FabSuite View - Production Control - Using the Model Interface without an XML Import

In order to utilize the model interface features, the production control job must have references from the bill of material line items to the model object GUIDs.  The easiest way to achieve this is to import the job with an XML file, either one exported out of SDS/2 or generated by FabSuite TME from a Tekla Structures model.  If the job comes into FabSuite from a different format the model interface can be used, it just requires one additional step to import the model object GUIDs from an IFC file so that they can be associated with the line items.

After the production control job is imported into FabSuite, open the job and select the menu option Production Control > Modify Data > IFC > Read GUIDs from IFC File, then select the IFC file that accompanies the job.

The IFC file will first be read, depending on the size of the file this can take a few moments.

After the initial read is complete, FabSuite will read the details of the parts in the IFC file and match the main/piece marks to the line items in the job.  When matches are found the model object GUIDs from the IFC file will be associated with the line items in FabSuite.

If any line items in the FabSuite job are not found in the IFC file then they will be listed under 'Matching GUIDs to the bill of materials...'  In this case 26M6 and 26M7 are not found in the IFC file.

At this point the rest of the model interface features can be used to interact with the 3D model.
