FabSuite View - Production Control - Model Viewer Interface

Additional interaction with the model viewer including filtering and colorization can be done on the Model Viewer Interface screen.

Set Filters

Click the Set Filters button to open the filter selection window.  Set the desired filters and click the Apply Filter button.  This will apply that filter to the model, any parts that do not match the filter will be hidden in the viewer.  Here a Drawing Description filter has been applied.

Show Parts not in FabSuite

The Show Parts not in FabSuite option dictates whether objects that are not in FabSuite are visible in the model.  Objects may be missing from FabSuite due to import errors, sequences that have been modeled but not yet released, or non-steel objects such as walls and slabs.  Below on the left is the model with this option checked, on the right is the model with this option un-checked.

Colorize

The model can be colorized by the following statuses:

  • Category
  • Sub-Category
  • Sequence
  • Lot #
  • Approval Status
  • Pay Category
  • Drawing Description

  • Material Status - Not Linked, Requisition, Inventory - On Order, Inventory - In Stock, TFS

  • Material Location Status - Same as Material Status, except the Inventory - In Stock status is broken out by inventory location.

  • Production Status - Completed, Not Started, or the last station that has been completed if the part is in progress.

  • Shipping Status - Completed, Not Started, or the last shipping destination that the part has been shipped to.  Will also break out into separate statuses parts that have been assigned but not yet loaded, and parts that have been loaded but not yet shipped.

Choose the desired colorization option and click the Colorize button.

The individual statuses can be shown or hidden with the checkboxes on the left.  The Check All and Check None buttons on the bottom of the screen can be used to show or hide everything.

When the Show parts not in FabSuite option is checked then a 'Not in FabSuite' status option will appear as a status option.  It can then be shown or hidden with the checkbox.  This is particularly useful as a way to ensure that everything in the model that needs to be fabricated is, in fact, in FabSuite.  To do this colorize on any option, click Check None to hide everything, and then check the Not in FabSuite option to show those parts.  Here we can see visually that a plate did not make it into FabSuite for some reason:

Select the part to see it's properties on the right side of the model.  That can be used to investigate further to find out why it is not in the FabSuite job.

View Parts not in Model

Click the View Parts not in Model button to open a screen showing any parts with piece marks that exist in the bill of materials in FabSuite but are not in the model that is currently open.  If a filter has been set on the Model Viewer Interface screen then that filter will be applied to the parts that appear on this screen.

On the Parts Not in Model screen the Total Quantity column is the quantity on the bill of materials and the Qty not in Model column is the number of those that do not exist in the model.  In this example there are parts from three different assemblies shown.  The 1B0 assembly does not exist at all in the model, there is 1 on the bill of materials in FabSuite and that 1 is not in the model.

The 1B3 assembly has an extra instance on the bill of materials in FabSuite, where the quantity is 2 but there is only 1 in the model.

The 1B5 assembly exists both on the bill of materials in FabSuite and the model.  However, the part a50 is in FabSuite but not in the model.

Line items without a piece mark are not shown on this screen.
