Tekla Model Exchange Object Representation

Below are instructions for setting up the Tekla Model Exchange (TME) Object Representation so that Tekla can view the FabSuite Production Status.

Step-by-step guide

1. View your route setup up in FabSuite by clicking Maintenance > Production Control > Station and Route Setup.
   
   
   
2. Note the names of your stations.
   
   
   
3. In Tekla under View click Representation to open the Object Representation window.
   
   
   
4. In the Object Representation window select the Color by Shop Status (Steel) option in the pull-down and click Load.
   
   
   
5. In the following steps, you'll map the Object Groups to the Stations in FabSuite, then delete the Color by Shop Status (Steel) - In Assembly.
   
   
   1. Click the Color by Shop Status (Steel)-Cut row then click on the Object group button in the lower left corner.
      
      
      
   2. Change the Property to Assembly Instance Status and the Value to match your first FabSuite Station name, in this case Cut/Saw. 
      
      
      
   3. In the input field next to Save As change the name to match the FabSuite station name (leave out any slashes "/" that may be part of the station name), then click Save as to commit the changes before closing the window.
      
      
      
6. While on the row we just modified click Add row for as many stations as you have in your FabSuite setup that you want to see the status in the model. 
   
   
   
7. Click on the row below the first new Object Group, in this case the second Shop_Status(Steel)-CutSaw. Then click on the Object group button in the lower left corner. Change the Value to match the station in the route, in this case Layout/Weld .Change the name of the row next to the Save as button to match the next station in the route, minus any slashes. In this example LayoutWeld.  Click the Save as button and then click the Save button to commit the changes. Then change the colors to what you want the model to reflect. Do this for each row that we added.
   
   
   
   
8. After you have changed the Object groups to match the stations in FabSuite change the name of the Object Representation next to the Save as button to Color by Shop Status (Steel) FabSuite. Click Save.
   
   
   
9. IMPORTANT: To use this object representation in another model you have to navigate to the attributes folder for this model and copy/paste the .rep file and all .PObjGrp files into the new model you want to use it in.
