Setting User-Defined Reports

Setting User-Defined Reports

  1. Ensure that the Custom Report directory is looking at the Custom Reports folder by going to File > Custom Reports. Save the user-defined report in the Custom Report folder.

  2. Open the report type that is being customized. In the Report Selection screen click Edit Report Types. Notice in the upper-right corner of the screen, between the Set Name radio button and the Company Setup pull-down, there is Report Filename. This changes as you select a different report and is the key to seeing which report file name the custom report refers to.

  3. On the lower-right hand of the screen select User-Defined Reports. Click New. In the Select Base Report choose the report you are modifying (you can double-check your selection by matching filenames). Click Select Base Report.
  4. In the User-Defined Reports screen create the Report Name and Title that you want the user-defined report to be called and adjust the filename as desired. Notice the UDR_prefix - this is the programs way of distinguishing user-defined reports from regular reports. Click the Edit button to save the new user-defined report.  When the user-defined report record is saved the report file from the selected base report will be copied into the Custom Report folder and given the file name entered.

  5. The user-defined report will now appear as an available report on the report types screen.
