Upgrading to the latest version of FabSuite

The following instructions are for upgrading to the latest version of FabSuite. For network installations, please run the new (downloaded) program on the server first, before running it on any of the client machines.

NOTE: Install Program File Updates only for the release version you are currently running - you must stay at the version you are running. Installing a different update will cause you to be unable to log into the software.

Step-by-step guide

  1. Run the FabLicense utility. To run FabLicense you can either:

    • From within FabSuite, select the File Menu > Run FabLicense; or
    • From your Windows START Button, select All Programs > FabSuite LLC > FabLicense; or
    • From within Windows Explorer, browse to C:\Program Files\FabSuiteLLC\FabSuite\FabLicense.exe.
  2. Download the Update Executable:
    1. In FabLicense, select File menu > Download.
      • The Company ID and Password should already be entered
    2. Click the Contact Server button.
      • The list of files available for download will be displayed
    3. Select and download the appropriate PrgmFileUpdate file.
      • For example: FabSuite160r04PrgmFilesUpdate.exe (NOTE: make sure you select the appropriate version)

  3. Run the Update Executable

  4. If you are set to a network installation, then move the PrgmFileUpdate to your FabSuite Documents Update folder so that users are prompted to update when opening the program. If they are not prompted to update, then ensure their Default Directories are pointed to the Update folder on the server.
